HIGHEST CARD

Mini conversations

Like all LMQ games, this game grows with your students. Start with simple questions and watch them turn into real conversations.  Highest Card is also a great filler game!

The Target Language 🤔

Question: Do you want to ____?

  Answer:   Yes, I do! / No, I don't!

Want to practice something else? Check out the Target Language Page.👍

Set Up 😀

1. Choose the Topic Cards you want to play with.

2. Shuffle all the cards and place the pile face down on the table. This is your Draw Pile.

How to Play 🎲

1. Player 1 takes card from the Draw Pile shows it to the other player(s) (covering the number on the card) and asks:

  "Do you want to ____?"

2. The other players each take turns answering the question, giving real information about themselves, saying:

  ✔ "Yes, I do!"

  ✘ "No, I don't!"

3. The next player picks up a card from the Draw pile and (covering the number on the card) asks a question.  All players take turns answering again.

4. After everyone has made a question, each player reveals the number on their card and says, "I have ___ points!"

5. The player with the highest number gets the cards from the other players and starts the next round.👊

The game continues until there are no more cards left in the Draw Pile or until it's time to stop. The player who has collected the most cards wins the game! 🥇🏆

💡Tip  For more advanced players. If the students are ready for a challenge, have them try to make as many different questions as possible for each card. (including 5W +1H questions)
